Nicholas V. Leone III, Founder & CEO
Nicholas V Leone III has twenty years financial industry and management experience. Mr. Leone is founder and chief executive of Global Fund Group, a registered investment advisor providing institutional investment consulting to foundations and endowments. He is responsible for strategic planning, business development, and oversight of the firm's research and investment process.
Mr. Leone was formerly Managing Member and Senior Portfolio Manager of Global Fund Investments, a long-short equity hedge fund focusing on global trends in over thirty countries. As Managing Member, he managed relationships with investment banks, think tanks, and government agencies to establish a research group. Mr. Leone hired analysts and directed research of macroeconomic trends, government policy, and company financials. He coordinated with information technology service providers to build a global trading platform with equity coverage in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Hong Kong.
During his career, Mr. Leone developed business for the Merrill Lynch Trust Company and the Consults Managed Money program. He managed in excess of billion in institutional assets at Alex Brown & Sons, the oldest investment bank in America. Mr. Leone successfully operated asset management businesses for a boutique investment firm, AIG Advisor Group Managed Assets Consulting Services, the Strategic Research Investment Group, and Manager Select. He is a public speaker, has written a series of industry articles, and been noted for his perspective on financial markets by CNBC.
Mr. Leone attended Harvard Business School's Executive Education in Financial Management and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Gordon College. He earned a Masters in Theology and Cross Cultural Studies from Fuller Seminary. Mr. Leone was an inaugural class member for Pepperdine University Law School's Straus Institute and attended Princeton Theological Seminary School of Christian Vocation.
Mr. Leone consulted with a United Nations non-governmental organization (NGO) for human rights and has participated in mayoral and presidential political campaigns. He serves as a board member and is committed to several non-profit organizations. Mr. Leone lives with his wife and two children in the New York area.
